Cherishing the Moments: Senior Night at LWHS

As a parent of teenage daughters, I’m more aware than ever of the milestones our kids achieve. It can feel cliché to hear that “they grow up too fast” or for parents to “cherish every moment,” but my experience at Senior Night during the LWHS football game versus Liberty High School last month truly reminded me of the dedication and hard work behind these special moments. It was a heartfelt reflection on the effort student-athletes and their parents put into training, practices, and competitions—all leading up to that final night under the Friday night lights.

Celebrating Our Youth and Community

As one of the two Platinum Sponsors for the LWHS Booster Club, alongside EvergreenHealth, I had the privilege of hosting a halftime contest to honor the parents of graduating seniors. The winner received a Kirkland Wine Walk Package, which included two tickets to the Kirkland Wine Walk, an overnight stay with a $50 F&B credit at the Heathman Hotel, and a wine gift basket.

The Power of Competition and Community Support

Live competitions are unpredictable—and that’s what makes youth sports so meaningful. During the contest, two finalists tied multiple times before a proud father kicked the winning 27-yard field goal just inside the left upright. Moments like these highlight why I support the LWHS Booster Club: they enhance the athletics, activities, and arts programs at Lake Washington High School, fostering a sense of community, teamwork, and resilience in our youth.
