Celebrating the Legacy of LWHS Softball & Baseball
The storied programs at Lake Washington High School, led by Head Coaches Jodee Hull and Derek Bingham, have a long-standing tradition of excellence. Over the years, they’ve graduated numerous collegiate student-athletes, with some advancing to professional ranks—an impressive testament to the program’s high standards. As they head into the KingCo 3A Playoffs this season, both teams are ranked in the state and aiming to add more trophies to their already impressive legacy.
A Rich History of Baseball & Softball in Kirkland
Kirkland’s deep commitment to developing top-tier talent provides a powerful backdrop for the current athletes. The influence of the 1982 Kirkland Little League team, which made a memorable run to the Little League World Series and was featured on ESPN+ “30 for 30,” highlights how these roots run generations deep. Additionally, the annual Juniors League Softball World Series held at Everest Park each July reinforces Kirkland’s role as a hub for nurturing future champions.
A Legacy of Achievement & Community Support
The foundational experiences provided by the LWHS Diamond Club teams—multiple state championships, KingCo titles, and district wins—continue to elevate the LWHS softball & baseball programs. The ongoing dedication from community members, coaches, and players propels the legacy forward, making an impact on the lives of young athletes.
