Kirkland is celebrated for its charming, walkable downtown filled with boutique shops and chic restaurants. Each year, the Kirkland Downtown Association and Kirkland Chamber of Commerce make the holiday season even more special with Winterfest, a festive celebration featuring Gingerbread House Competitions, Winter Markets, the Marina Tree Lighting, holiday carolers, and dazzling displays like Google’s 10,000 LED lights synchronized to a holiday music show.

The Highlight: Kirkland Holiday Wine Walk

My personal favorite Winterfest event is the Kirkland Holiday Wine Walk, organized in partnership with Seattle Uncorked. We’ve proudly supported this event for the past four years, welcoming visitors in the luxurious lobby of the Heathman Hotel. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy tastings from local wineries, cideries, and distilleries, all while exploring downtown Kirkland’s vibrant shops and businesses.

Special Interview with Kirkland Chamber VP, Beth Gale

We had the pleasure of catching up with Beth Gale, VP of Sales & Marketing at the Kirkland Chamber, who shared insights about the fantastic wineries and local businesses opening their doors for the tastings. Beth also mentioned her favorite spots around town, as the Chamber hosts three wine walks throughout the year, each offering a unique experience.

Community Celebrations and Giveaways

During Senior Night at LWHS, the halftime field goal contest winner was able to enjoy a night on the town as a guest of the Kirkland Wine Walk tickets and an overnight stay at the Heathman Hotel — a perfect way to celebrate community spirit. Kirkland truly has a special feel, and I couldn’t imagine living or working anywhere else.
